Preface

Carnelian is a colour named after the semi-precious gem stone of the same name. The colour of the stone itself can vary greatly, ranging from pale orange to an intense almost-black coloration, however, the predominate colour is always a rich reddish-brown. This piece is inspired by my own reaction to the colour as well as the energies and positive impacts that the stone is said to have, which include heightened energy, humour and power.
