The Marquis of Marigold was first performed by Yee Ni Tse and the Royal Northern College of Music conducted by Leo Geyer on the 1st of June 2012 at the Carole Nash Recital Room at the RNCM.
Standing tall and proud,
swathed in red, orange and yellow
is the Marquis of Marigold - The Lord of the Borderland.
The Lord of neither life nor death.
His heart warm and open, unburdened and pure.
He stands not to rob the living
but to serve the living.
A welcoming figure to illuminate the darkness.
To rejoice and celebrate the life of the deceased.
