Winter Frost 2011

Written for Xavieran Flute Choir and first performed on the 28th March 2011 at the Royal Northern College of Music, by the ensemble conducted by the composer.




Version I - treble recorder or piccolo | 11 flutes

Version II - 2 piccolos | 8 flutes 


Everything is covered by an ice coat, sealing all within.

The frost holds a tight grip but will do no harm.

Beneath the wintery veil there is life,

things still move, slither, crawl and grow;

all awaiting the morning sunshine.
